Well, here it is . . . my first blog entry! I'm a little surprised at myself for entering into this realm, but I'm excited that I'll have these entries, pictures, and stories to remember when these moments in my life are gone. (I always think I'll remember all the wonderful things that happen to me, but most days I can't even find my wallet & keys!)
We had a most wonderful Christmas this year. After several days of frenzied sewing & crafts, Christmas Eve arrived. We went to Mark's parents for dinner & gifts and then to my favorite service of the year at Zion Lutheran. . . the Christmas candlelight service, complete with lots of carols.
The next morning, we were trying to wake up Isabelle & Henry to go see if Santa came. We teased Isabelle, "I don't know . . .have you been good enough? Are you sure Santa came?" She replied, "Hmmm . . . maybe I'd better go clean up the basement!" She was halfway down the stairs before we convinced her just to go look under the tree! Henry was a little afraid (I think because he thought Santa was still lurking somewhere!) The rest of the day was spent at church at St. Anne's, lounging at my parents' while stuffing our faces with all the yummy goodies (my mom makes the best turtles, fudge, & carmels), & visiting with my relatives at the farm. We had so darn much fun we couldn't get ourselves to leave, so we ended up sleeping on my parents' couches like a couple of teenagers at a sleepover! Laura & Kristin & their kids stayed too (& Michael of course!), so it was a blast . . . plus waffles in the morning! Who could resist?!
Every Christmas is more & more fun with Isabelle & Henry, & soon Lucy, adding their own special kind of cheer & excitement. But for now, this momma's gotta go . . . to feed one of those little darlings!
